We except cash, all major credit cards, debit cards, PayPal, Venmo, & Cash App. We do not except checks. We do not bill customers or allow credit.
Reservations are required during all seasons of the year.
Walk-ins for boarding will only be accepted if there is space available and if owner arrives prepared with proof of current vaccination status.
Holiday and summer reservations should be made well in advance. When making your pet boarding reservations during any nationally recognized holiday (3 day minimum stay) please be advised that prepayment of $75.00 per kennel booked is required. Your prepayment is refundable only if you cancel your reservation seven (7) days or more in advance of your pet’s stay. If holiday reservations are cancelled less than 7 days of scheduled arrival date your prepayment will be refunded only if we can fill the space you had reserved.
We request your understanding that holiday & summer travel is a peak service time for pet care.
If Someone Else Picks Up Your Pet For You:
If you have made arrangements for someone else to pick up your pet from boarding, please let us know who that authorized person is. We do not release pets to anyone other than the owner unless prior arrangements have been made.
DOG VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS: DHLPP, BORDETELLA, AND RABIES.
Puppies must be at least 12 weeks of age and have had 3 rounds of puppy vaccinations.
You can ask your vet to fax over the vaccination status (fax: 205-371-6938). Or you can email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or bring it in proof of your pet's current vaccinations prior to boarding. Vaccinations are available through your veterinarian. WE DO NOT ACCEPT HANDWRITTEN VACCINATION RECORDS OR RECEIPTS FROM A PET SUPPLY STORE. ALL RECORDS MUST BE FROM A LICENSED VETERINARIAN. All pets must be in good health. Owners will need to certify that their pet(s) are in good health and have not been ill in the last 30 days. On admission all pets must be free from any condition that could potentially jeopardize the health and safety of other pets. Once admitted, please alert staff to any change in your pet's health that requires medication, even if West Alabama Dog Boarding is not required to administer it. If your pet is not feeling well, i.e. coughing, vomiting or diarrhea, please do not bring him/her to your boarding appointment. He needs to be under your veterinarian’s care.
We do not require dogs to be spayed or neutered, but we do not allow female dogs in season to be boarded.
Any abrupt change to your pet's diet will cause in an upset stomach resulting in vomiting and diarrhea--which is no fun for your pet! It can even develop into pancreatitis, which can become serious and require hospitalization. Since we want your pet's stay with us to be pleasant, we urge you to bring your pet's own REGULAR food. Please bring enough to last the duration of your pet's stay in a seal-able container (Ziploc, Tupperware, or plastic bin with lid) labeled with your dog's name and feeding instructions. We are happy to feed dry or wet food per your written instructions. Pets that arrive without food will be fed at an extra charge of $1.75 per pound. House food is Diamond Naturals Skin & Coat. We charge $1.00 per dose for administering your oral prescription medications delivered in a Pill Pocket to dogs. We do not give shots of any kind.
Items From Home:
Dogs use articles brought in with them as toys and chewing play things, so please do not bring any item which you do not wish to be chewed. We say NO to foam or cedar filled pet beds which are very easily destroyed so we ask that you leave them at home. We encourage pet owners to bring kennel pads for each dog, but we do provide blankets which you can take home with you for a small fee. PLEASE DO NOT BRING ANY BEDDING THAT CANNOT BE PUT IN A WASHING MACHINE.
Items from home might include toys, towels, small blankets, etc. for these items will contain your household smells and make the pet feel more comfortable while away from home. Please limit the number of items to 2 pieces. Label all items with your last name and the pet’s name. Do not bring your pet’s favorite toy. We will take every care with your pet’s possessions, but we are not responsible for items lost or destroyed. Keep in mind we do not guarantee return of these items – please only bring items you consider to be “disposable”.
We use stainless steel bowls that are washed and sanitized after each use so you do not need to bring bowls from home.

We do not use leashes while your dog is here with us. All exercise is off-leash.
You are responsible for accompanying your dog(s) to and from your vehicle. A leash is recommended.
